Ontario Swimming Championships 2025 Highlights Barrie Trojan athletes were racing through the TPASC water July 9-13 at the Ontario Swimming Championships for 2025. BTSC had 44 competitors who achieved the high qualifying standards required to earn entry into the meet. Our team was one of 92 Clubs representing all parts of the province competing at the event. Collingwood Clippers June Invitational 2025 Highlights The BTSC TOP, Novice and Provincial Development groups were in Collingwood on June 21-22 to race in the CCSC June Invitational meet. There were 13 clubs participating in the four sessions over the weekend. Here are the highlights. The following swimmers raced to top 3 finishes. Bell Canadian Swimming Trials 2025 Highlights The Barrie Trojans were in Victoria, BC from June 7-12 participating in the Bell Canadian Swimming Trials. Swimming took place at the beautiful Saanich Commonwealth Place facility. BTSC was represented by 12 athletes who achieved the qualifying standards and earned the right to swim against the best swimmers in Canada. Huronia Region Long Course Team Challenge 2025 Highlights A BTSC team of 40 athletes traveled to Brock University June 5-8 to compete in the Huronia Region Long Course Team Challenge. Our team raced with the Huronia Region Clubs along with the host, Brock, and Belleville. This meet is unique in that overall team points are important and individual swimmer and relay results (top 8) contribute to the team point total. Age Group International 2025 Highlights The Age Group International swim meet was held at the Etobicoke Olympium June 5-8. BTSC entered 20 athletes who competed with swimmers from 24 other clubs. Thursday swimming consisted of the distance events. Marissa Battrick and Kaelyn Vroom claimed gold medals in the 1500m freestyle. Maggie McConachie and Rydaar Watt placed 6th in their respective races. GHAC Summer Invitational 2025 Highlights The Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club hosted their Summer Invitational swim meet at the McMaster University pool May 31-June 1. BTSC had 9 swimmers from our TOP group competing at the meet with 10 other clubs in the long course format. Alessa and Kate at Niagara 2025 Ontario Parasport Development Clinic On May 31, Alessa Darby and Kate Smith, along with their coaches, Joe and Sam, participated in Swim Ontario’s Race Ready Clinic at the Niagara 2025 Ontario Parasport Games. The games, taking place in the Niagara region, is a multi-sport (11 sports) competition. The 2025 games are the 44th edition with over 750 participants. MAC Spring Invitational 2025 Highlights The Barrie Trojans were at the Markham Pan Am Centre May 15-18 racing at the MAC Spring Invitational swim meet. Top Cup 2025 Meet Highlights The Etobicoke Olympium was the venue for Top Cup 2025 May 9-11. This meet is unique in that it is for 10 year old and under swimmers only. BTSC Spring Off the Blocks 2025 Ontario Meet Highlights BTSC hosted our last meet for the 2024/2025 swim season on May 3 - 4, 2025. Spring Off the Blocks was a great success with 6 clubs participating. We welcomed Mississauga Aquatic Club, Newmarket Stingrays Swim Club, Peterborough Swim Club, Variety Village Aquatic Club and Whitby Swimming to the East Bayfield Community Centre for a great weekend of competition.
