GHAC Summer Invitational 2025 Highlights
The Golden Horseshoe Aquatic Club hosted their Summer Invitational swim meet at the McMaster University pool May 31-June 1. BTSC had 9 swimmers from our TOP group competing at the meet with 10 other clubs in the long course format.
The Saturday order of events consisted of 100m freestyle, 50M backstroke, 200M butterfly, 100M breaststroke, 50M freestyle, 200M backstroke, 50M butterfly and 200M individual medley. Awards were given for the 10 year and under, 11 year old and 12 year old age categories.
Racing in the 100m freestyle saw Jessica Enwright and Sydney Paquet finish 2nd and 3rd in their respective age groups. Sydney had an over 10 second best time, climbing many seed positions, to earn that 3rd fastest time. Ainsley Kiser also had a big best time of 11 seconds to finish in 6th.
Kenzie Marshall sped to the wall over 3.5 seconds faster than her previous best to touch 1st in 50M back for 11 year olds. In the 10 year old racing, Sydney Paquet had another personal best time finishing 4th while Olivia Bowen placed 8th.
For the 10 year old 100M breaststroke, Esther Kim and Andia Hakimian finished 1st and 3rd. Other BTSC swimmers filled the top 10 with Ainsley Kiser (4th), Kloe Gervais-Osmond (5th), Kayla Yao (6th), and Olivia Bowen (8th).
50M freestyle sprinting saw Esther Kim claim 1st place and Jessica Enwright take 2nd in their age groups. Sydney Paquet placed 6th.
Kenzie Marshall and Kayla Yao had impressive 19 and 9 second personal best times for 200M backstroke to finish 3rd in their respective age groups. Andia Hakimian, Ainsley Kiser and Olivia Bowen placed 5th, 6th and 8th.
Esther Kim earned another 1st place in 200m IM with a best time. Kayla Yao, Andia Hakimian, and Kenzie Marshall finished 4th, 6th and 6th in their age groups.
The Sunday racing schedule started with 50M freestyle, followed by 100M backstroke, 50M breaststroke, 200M freestyle, 100m butterfly, 200m breaststroke and 50M backstroke.
Jessica Enwright touched the wall 1st in the 50M freestyle while Kenzie Marshall raced to a 4th place finish.
Esther Kim took top spot in the 10 year old 100m backstroke with a time over 15 seconds faster than her seed time. Andia Hakimian, Sydney Paquet, Ainsley Kiser, Kloe Gervais-Osmond and Olivia Bowen were 4th to 8th place in that order. Jessica Enwright finished in 4th place for the 11 year olds with an almost 5 second best time.
Esther Kim was 2nd quickest in the 50M breaststroke while Aisley Kiser (4th), Olivia Bowen (5th), and Kayla Yao (8th) all had personal best times to finish in the top 10.
The 10 year old and under 200M freestyle saw Kayla Yao earn the 2nd place spot using a 27 second personal best time. Sydney Paquet, Ainsley Kiser and Kloe Gervais-Osmond were top 10 finishers. Sydney had an over 31 second best time. Jessica Enwright placed 7th in the 11 year old age group.
Andia Kakimian and Kenzie Marshall claimed 2nd places in their 100m butterfly races for their respective age groups while Jessica Enwright finished 4th.
Esther Kim and Kayla Yao were 1st and 2nd in the 200M breaststroke. Swimming in the session ended with the 50M backstroke where Kloe Gervais-Osmond took 5th place.
Of note, Kloe Gervais-Osmond and Ainsley Kiser established new personal best times in each of their races during the weekend. Kenzie Marshall, Sydney Paquet and Kayla Yao set new personal standards in 5 of their 6 races.
