Alessa and Kate at Niagara 2025 Ontario Parasport Development Clinic

On May 31, Alessa Darby and Kate Smith, along with their coaches, Joe and Sam, participated in Swim Ontario’s Race Ready Clinic at the Niagara 2025 Ontario Parasport Games. The games, taking place in the Niagara region, is a multi-sport (11 sports) competition. The 2025 games are the 44th edition with over 750 participants. This is the first time that swimming has been featured in the games after a 13 year absence.

Alessa, Kate, Joe and Sam were able to experience the opening and medal ceremonies while benefiting from the excellent development opportunity provided by the Clinic. Swimmers had the opportunity to do relays - which is not a common occurrence - and the coaches had the opportunity to interact with athletes with whom they would not normally have that chance.

A real highlight of the clinic was having the opportunity to listen to talks from Para swimmers who have attended Pan Am Games, World Championships and the Paralympic Games.

Well done Alessa, Kate, Joe and Sam.

Thank you to our Club sponsors for their support for our swimmers. They are  Jackson’s Toyota, Brandy's Cove Yachting Centre and Georgian BMW.

Go Trojans!
