MAC Winter Invitational Meet Highlights After the holiday break, the Barrie Trojans were back to competing, this time at the Markham Pan Am Centre in the long course pool on Jan. 18-20 as part of the Markham Aquatic Club Winter Invitational. Mississauga Open Meet Highlights The Etobicoke Olympium was the venue for the Mississauga Open swim meet Dec. 13-15, 2024. The Barrie Trojans had a large contingent of athletes who took to the pool for the competition. The other teams competing were Oakville, Toronto, Richmond Hill, Etobicoke, Club Warriors, Burlington, Hamilton, RAMAC, York U and the host, Mississauga. BTSC swimmer Kate Smith and Coach Sam Kuntz participated as part of a Swim Ontario tour team at the Ken Demchuk International Invitational that took place November 29-December 1, 2024 at the Markham Pan Am Centre. The purpose of the Swim Ontario tour team is to provide a high-level para swimming opportunity as part of the Swim Ontario International Podium Development project. The Barrie Trojans hosted Trojan Cup Nov. 29 - Dec. 1, 2024 and welcomed the Orillia Channel Cats, Wilmot Aquatic Aces, Orangeville Otters, and Markham Aquatic Club to the East Bayfield Community Centre pool. The Barrie Trojans participated at the Gus Ryder Memorial Cup hosted by Lakeshore Swim Club Nov. 15 - 17. BTSC swimmers continue to do amazing things in the water with many personal best times achieved and numerous finals appearances for swimmers representing many of our training groups. Congratulations Kate and Coach Sam Kate Smith and Sam Kuntz have been selected by Swim Ontario to be members of the tour team competing at the Ken Demchuk International Invitational taking place at the Markham Pan Am Centre Nov. 28 - Dec. 1, 2024.
