2024 Hall of Fame Meet Highlights

The Barrie Trojans are back to racing for the 2024/2025 season!

 

Our Junior, Senior Development, Senior, and High Performance groups kicked off the competition part of their schedule in Etobicoke at the Hall of Fame meet on October 19-20. It was a great start to the competition season with many personal best times and fast swims.

 

Here are some of the results highlights from the meet.

 

Podium Finishes

  • Blayke Taylor came 1st in 100M free and 100M fly. She was the 2nd fastest in 200M IM and 3rd for 50M free.
  • Clara Vilchez was fastest to earn 1st in 50M back and 50M free. Clara was 2nd for 200M IM and 100M fly.
  • Avelyn Gregoric touched 1st in 50M fly and 100M fly and was 2nd for 50M back. She finished 3rd in the 200M IM.
  • Avery Knight was fastest in 50M and 100M fly, and was the runner up in 50M back.
  • Sam Brundage earned 1st place in 50M breast. She was also 1st in 100M breast and 2nd in 50M free.
  • Emma Vaughan came 1st in 200M free and 200M breast.
  • Keira Hornby earned 1st in 200M free, and 3rd places for 100M fly, 50M free, and 100M free.
  • Tate DeVroom’s 50M fly time was the fastest. He came 2nd in 200M IM, 200M free, 100M back, and 50M free.
  • Matt Creasor was the 1st place finisher for 200M back and he was 3rd for 100M back.
  • Rydaar Watt came in 1st place for his 200M breast race.
  • Daniel Eperjessy was 2nd for 50M back, and 3rd in 100M back.
  • Kaelyn Vroom earned 3rd place results in 50M back and 50M breast.
  • Julia Denes finished 2nd in 50M fly, and had 3rd places for 50M back, 200M free, 100M fly, and 100M free.
  • Tori Carlesimo finished 2nd fastest in the 50M breast.
  • Edwin Huang came 3rd in 200M IM, 200M free, and 100M free.
  • Namid Khan was 3rd in the 200M free.
  • Emmy Hankin touched in 3rd for the 200M breast.
  • Scotty Sutton’s 50M breast time earned a 3rd place result.
  • Marissa Battrick came 3rd in the 200M breast.

Top 5 Finishes

  • Daniel Eperjessy was 4th in 200M IM, 100M fly, and 100M free. 
  • Ben Millar finished 4th in the 200M IM, 100M fly and was 5th in the 50M fly.
  • Lucien Vilchez came 4th in the 200M fly and earned 5th place finishes in the  200M IM and 200M breast.
  • Kylie Sarabura has 4th place results for the 100M and 200m breast.
  • Kaelyn Vroom and Avery Knight were 4th in the 200M back. Dorothy Dong was 5th in the same event.
  • Sam Brundage and Marissa Battrick finished 4th and 5th respectively in the 200M IM.
  • Tori Carlesimo came 4th in the 50M free, and 5th in the 100M breast.
  • Namid Khan was 5th overall in the 200M IM.
  • Tate DeVroom came 5th in the 100M breast.
  • Edwin Huang earned 4th for the 50M fly and 100M fly.
  • Julia Logan finished 4th in her 50M breast race.
  • Reilynn Oevering came 5th in the 200M breast.
  • Clara Vilchez was 4th in the 100M free and Emma Vaughan had the same result for her 100m back.
  • Maggie McCoanchie finished 4th in the 50M fly.

And congratulations to Sam Brundage for breaking the 50M breaststroke Club record with a time of 33.94, almost 1.5 seconds faster than her old record!
