BTSC Tiny Trojans Pre-Competitive Program

BTSC's Tiny Trojans Program is a pre-competitive swimming program for children aged 6-12 years old. The program teaches the basic and necessary components of competitive swimming in a fun, safe, and inclusive team environment. It focuses on improving stroke technique and building swimmer endurance to provide a strong introduction to competitive swimming with the goal of graduating swimmers into the competitive program.

Tryout process:

Prior to registration, every prospective BTSC athlete must complete a tryout to determine; if the swimmer is prepared for the BTSC program, and which appropriate training group is best suited to the swimmer based on skill and age. Space in the program is also a consideration.

To be considered for the BTSC Tiny Trojan program, swimmers are required to complete one length of the pool (25 metres) unassisted, and without stopping. Coaches are looking to see if the swimmer can swim the four strokes of swimming: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. The swimmer’s ability to grasp coaching direction is also a consideration.
