BTSC House League Program

BTSC's House League Program is for swimmers aged 12 and over who want to continue to improve their swimming skills, but do not wish to compete in officially-sanctioned competition. House league swimmers train 2-3 times per week, making it an excellent choice for multi-sport student-athletes. House league swimmers who display significant ability in swimming will have the option to try out for and transition to the BTSC Competitive Program.

Tryout Process

Prior to registration, every prospective BTSC athlete must complete a tryout to determine; if the swimmer is prepared for the BTSC program, and which appropriate training group is best suited to the swimmer based on skill and age. Space in the program is also a consideration.

To be considered for the BTSC House League program, swimmers are required to complete one length of the pool (25 metres) unassisted, and without stopping. Coaches are looking to see if the swimmer can swim the four strokes of swimming: freestyle, breaststroke, backstroke and butterfly. The swimmer’s ability to grasp coaching direction is also a consideration.
