2024 Top Cup SC/LC Meet Highlights

 Etobicoke Olympium was the site of the Top Cup swim competition May 11-12, 2024. Top Cup is a unique event dedicated to 10 year old and under swimmers only with short course swimming in the morning and afternoon sessions followed by a long course format in the evening. BTSC athletes competed with 17 other clubs including some Quebec based teams. Ten swimmers wore their Trojan caps into the water. Girls - Eva Beaudry, Sophie Bowen, Madeline DeVroom, Kennedy Jackson, and Emma Mackie. and Boys - Jack Butler, Finn Harrison, Grayson Palermo, Chase Turner, Neo Zhang.                        

For the short course sessions, Emma Mackie took first place in the 50M breaststroke and achieved a second place finish for the same stroke over 100M. Chase Turner and Jack Butler finished third overall in their 100M backstroke and 200M breaststroke races respectively. Jack Butler had numerous top 10 finishes with two 4th (400M free, 50M breast), four 5th (50 and 100M free, 100M breast, 200M IM), three 6th (200M free, 50 and 100M back) and an 8th place in 200M back. Chase Turner had 4th palace finishes in 50 and 200M back. Emma Mackie was 7th in her 50M fly race.

For the long course sessions, Emma Mackie was first to the wall for her 50M breaststroke race and followed that up with a 3rd place finish in the 100M breastroke. BTSC swimmers achieved a number of top 10 finishes in the evening sessions.

The girls team of Madeleine DeVroom, Emma Mackie, Kennedy Jackson and Eva Beaudry finished 7th in the 4x50 medley relay.
